To really shift into overdrive there’s also an available 280-horsepower 3.6L FSI V6 engine with 4MOTION® all-wheel drive system. Here are a few innovative technologies that make the CC more efficient:
 

DSG – A definite shift for the better. DSG stands for Direct Shift Gearbox. In essence, it gives you the convenience of an automatic with the performance and efficiency of a manual. DSG is managed by dual electronically controlled clutches, so not only do you shift faster, you also get enhanced acceleration and reduced fuel consumption. In fact, thanks to DSG, each shift takes less than 4/100ths of a second. And if you’re the manual type, a quick f lip of the Tiptronic® function lets you shift into something a little sportier.
 

TSI – TSI brings together the power of FSI direct fuel injection with the extra oomph of a turbocharger. The end result? An ultra-efficient engine that provides maximum torque from 1,700 to 5,000 rpm, gives you outstanding performance through a wide range of speeds, power when you really need it, ultra-low fuel consumption and, ultimately, lower CO2 emissions.

Exterior – Take a moment to stand back from the CC’s jaw-dropping design and you’ll quickly discover that this is so much more than pure sculpture in motion. Every single finely tuned detail is designed with one singular purpose in mind – to take your breath away. From its generous curves with chrome exterior trim gracing the front grille, window surrounds and body moldings to the rain sensor with automatic wiper speed control, available Bi-Xenon headlights with
Adaptive Front-light System (AFS), halogen projector lens fog lights to the available panorama vent sunroof. Out of breath? Don’t say we didn’t tell you so. But the CC exterior goes far beyond the surface. Its high body rigidity is based on unibody construction and laser welding, to keep the body stiff for utmost performance. And the independent sports suspension doesn’t just hug the road – it embraces it.

Interior – One look at the CC interior, and it’s clear there was a dynamic partnership between Volkswagen engineers and designers. An impressive number of features come standard, including four individual sport seats, subtle ambient lighting, a push-start ignition switch, and 17" alloy wheels. You can also get available Climatronic® dual-climate zones for individual climate control, available panorama vent sunroof, and 3-position memory for the driver seat and exterior mirrors. The available 2-tone colour design makes for an unforgettably plush interior, while polished aluminum trim punctuates everything perfectly. Even more luxurious touches are available, including a Dynaudio® Premium Sound System with 10 high-end speakers and a stout amplifier that delivers 600 watts of power. Yes, you heard right – 600 watts of power.
 

Engine – Falling in love with the CC is easy. Choosing a power plant to propel your CC, well, that’s a bit harder. First, there’s the 2.0 TSI turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection that delivers 200 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque. Standard with 6-speed manual transmission or available 6-speed automatic Direct
Shift Gearbox (DSG) with Tiptronic®. The second option is the 3.6L FSI V6 engine with 4MOTION all-wheel drive system that delivers 280 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. Whichever engine you choose, the CC offers you a powerful selection of remarkable engineering achievements to complement your unique driving style. For instance, available DSG automatic transmission including Tiptronic®, which provides manual shifting control. On Highline models, the automatic transmission features paddle shifters that are integrated into the steering wheel for F1-style shifting. Combine this with electromechanical power steering for consistent steering feedback regardless of speed, and you’re on the road to sheer exhilaration.
 

Safety standards come standard.

Every Volkswagen comes standard with many features that work in harmony to both help you avoid an accident and help protect you if an accident is unavoidable. And we are constantly updating it, because when it comes to safety, there is no finish line.
 

8 standard airbags* – Every CC comes standard with front and side thorax airbags, Side Curtain Protection airbags and rear side airbags for all outboard seating positions.
 

Auto Hold – Whether you’re going up or downhill, Auto Hold controls the hydraulic pressure to help prevent the vehicle from rolling forward or backward once you come to a complete stop. Even if you take your foot off the brake.
 

Electronic parking brake – No need to pull levers and push pedals to set your parking brake. With the touch of a finger, you can activate and release the electronic brake button.
 

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) – ESC helps the driver maintain their intended course by generating corrective forces. ESC is most effective when the driver is taking evasive action during sudden manoeuvres, like when avoiding an accident. This feature is standard on all Volkswagen models.
 

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) – Constantly monitors differences in tire pressure and alerts the driver if a single tire is low, or is quickly def lating due to a puncture.
 

Mobility tires – Self-sealing tire design which can instantly “heal” small punctures to reduce tire deflation and maximize driving safety.
